My Story
Erin has been practicing in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy setting for the past 9 years with 7 years of special clinical interest in pelvic floor rehabilitation. She has called the Southeast home for most her life and graduated from Furman University with a degree in Biology in 2009. Erin pursued her clinical doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2013, she started her professional career as a physical therapist in Washington, DC.
Erin believes in developing physical therapy plans of care with individualized assessment and patient collaboration. She applies a combination of manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription to facilitate patient achievement of functional goals. Erin particularly enjoys the educational aspect of patient care and strives to help every patient feel empowered by a greater understanding of their body. Erin works with patients across the lifespan and assists in the recovery from various conditions including postural dysfunction, TMD, chronic neck pain and headaches, balance deficits, post-op presentations, and lower extremity pain and muscular imbalances.
Additionally, Erin has received advanced training in the assessment and treatment of conditions related to pelvic floor dysfunction. She completed her coursework through the APTA Section on Pelvic Health and obtained her Certificate of Achievement in Physical Therapy (CAPP) – Pelvic Health in 2018. Erin believes that pelvic floor rehabilitation is for everybody and every body. She seeks to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for patients to address urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, pregnancy-related postural dysfunction, and pelvic floor pain.
Erin enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and is excited to discover the beauty of the Valley. Erin is delighted to be a team member of the Center for Hand and Physical Therapy and to serve the community of the Shenandoah Valley.
